The Colored Pages Book Club is a bi-weekly show where hosts, Marci and Ako, talk about fiction, fantasy, and magical realism written by writers from colorful backgrounds. The two both have big personalities and are very enthusiastic about using their favorite novels/comics/short stories to talk about their own lives as well as bigger social themes such as liberation, anti-oppression, and intersectionality. It’s essentially a mix of SparkNotes and your favorite book club with a huge helping of all of the tomfoolery and shenanigans that one might expect from two friends catching up. So, if you’re someone that is looking for a hilarious, yet in-depth social analysis to accompany your reading experience or someone looking to expand your reading list to include more writers of color, LGBTQ writers, women writers, etc. then check out the Colored Pages Book Club wherever you listen to podcasts!
