Two New Contest for Autumn Winter
Announcing The Blue Nib Omnibus Contest: For Short Fiction This is a new contest for short fiction writers that hopes to emulate the success of the Chapbook Series for poets. A single entry of 2500 to 3000 words with the top 10/11 entries chosen by judge Imogen Gladman.
Our guest judge Vivien Jones made an initial shortlist of twelve entries from the over sixty entries sent to her. From this longlist she selected her three winners and these are the remainder that are all highly commended.
The Blue Nib #35 – Launch. Come and join Shirley Bell and Dave Kavanagh in Books Upstairs on Friday 14th of September. Help us to launch our first print issue. We will also be announcing the results of the Summer 2018 Chapbook Contest, and will have reading by contributors and by Winners and Commended poets.
The Blue Nib Chapbook 2 has jumped a place in the UK Chapbook Charts and is now listed at No 2. The book features the work of our Winter Chapbook Contest winners, Anne Walsh Donnelly, Akshaya Pawaskar and Bobbie Sparrow. The Contest was judged by Irish poet Kevin Higgins. The book can be purchased in the Book Shop and is also available as part of a special offer with Chapbook 1 & Chapbook 2.
