About the Omnibus Contest Series
Autumn 2018 sees the launch of these the Blue Nib Omnibus Contests. Our judge, Imogen Gladman, is looking for 11 pieces of outstanding short fiction to appear in the inaugural Blue Nib Omnibus which will be published under the Blue Nib imprint in late spring 2019.
The Omnibus contest follows on from our very successful Chapbook Series for new poetry.
Who Can Enter
The Omnibus contest is open to writers of any nationality writing in any form. However only entries written in English will be accepted. Entry fees are not refundable
The contest calls for one exceptional story of between 2500 & 3000 words. The work must be unpublished and remain so until the contest is judged
The contest is free to all Blue Nib paid members (membership costs €15.00 per quarter) Free members & non-members pay an entry fee of €16.50.
The Judge for this round is Blue Nib Fiction Editor, Imogen Gladman. She comes to the chair with 20 years of professional experience.
The prize money for the contest is funded by magazine subscription and book sales and for this round of the series it will be €500.00, with €150.00 going to the 1st place winner and €75.00 to the 2nd & 3rd place winners. Eight highly commended entries will receive €25.00 each. But this contest is not primarily about prize money, it is about searching for and promoting new talent. The winners will have their work published by The Blue Nib imprint in The Blue Nib Omnibus #1.
