Featuring new and established poets and writers. Each month, Mind The Gap suggest a theme for contributors to interpret in poetry, prose or short fiction. The podcast is curated by Angela Dye and produced and presented by Mike Ivatt
At Mind the Gap, we create audio anthologies of poetry and stories.
Each month we set a theme that we like people to interpret as closely or laterally as they choose.
We select poems and prose from a range of emergent and established writers.
Seasonally we anthologise poetry and prose collections from publishers.
We work within communities setting up pop- up studios to draw in the public. We like to discover poetry in diverse places.
We like our podcasts to be accessible where the new poet can sit alongside the acclaimed.Diversity, and finding a range of different voices is important to us.
We also record specially created Mind the Gap poetry events, do live interviews and work interactively with the public, trying to harvest the creativity or confidence they did not know they had.
Each poetry pod features new people every month. It has been a privilege to note the development of the poet from pod to pod.
To mark Mind the Gap’s anniversary in September 2019, we will be creating a monthly suite of products.
Each month we will produce at least: a poetry audio anthology,a prose podcast,
and an interview with a writer. We will pick a feature poet from the poetry pod and highlight their pod specifically and give a longer introduction and aural biography.
We also leave ourselves scope to discover the unexpected and bring you a further pod each month offering one of these literary delights: film, script recordings, radio plays, poetry set to music, hybrid writing, panel discussions of poetry analysis, essays, audio books and more.
