Highly Commended

Our guest judge Vivien Jones made an initial shortlist of twelve entries from the over sixty entries sent to her. From this longlist she selected her three winners and these are the remainder that are all highly commended.

In her own words.

“None of the submissions was less than interesting, several with no placing in the competition, would merit publication in any national magazine.”

The Commended Poets are in no order other than that in which they were received.

Judges Comments: Some lovely language, a couple of the poems really stood out, plus a couple I couldn’t make head nor tail of.

Judges Comments:These read better as prose poems – not sure why they are set out in verses – but the fables are beautifully told and a pamphlet of prose poems could be very good.
