Dean Schabner

Dean Schabner is a writer who’s lived on the edge of a bird refuge on the shore of New York’s Jamaica Bay for a decade. He’s been a sportswriter, an editor at weekly newspapers, and edited a news agency in Kiev, Ukraine, among other jobs in a lifetime in journalism. His short stories have been published in The Pushcart Prize, Witness, and Northwest Review, Easthampton Star, Willamette Week and Northwest magazine. His poems have appeared in Juniper and The Blue Nib, and he has a chapbook forthcoming from Ghost City Press.
